Politics major Judianne Meredith wins national award for her senior seminar
paper

Congratulations to Judianne Meredith, a Politics major who graduated in 2025 and whose senior seminar paper, “Competition or Cooperation? The Role of Media Framing in US-China Strategic Narratives,” won a national award from Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honor Society.
Professors Justin Esarey and Betina Wilkinson win national recognition for
mentoring
Professor Esarey is the 2025 recipient of the Society for Political Methodology
Excellence in Mentoring Award, which “honors members of the Society who have
demonstrated an outstanding commitment to mentoring and advising graduate and/or undergraduate students and, in particular, those from underrepresented groups.”
Professor Wilkinson is the 2025 recipient of the Adaljiza Sosa-Riddell Mentoring Award bestowed by the APSA Committee on the Status of Latinos y Latinas in the Profession. The award recognizes exceptional mentoring of Latino/a students and junior faculty and honors Adaljiza Sosa-Riddell, the first Latina to earn a doctorate in political science and a life-long mentor of Latinos/as, and recognizes Professor Wilkinson for her “tireless
dedication to undergraduate students and innovation as a mentor.”
